Colbert-Benton
The
Guest House

ABOUT
Originally built in 1886, the Colbert-Benton Guest House was once the home of the city’s namesake, J. Fletcher Colbert, and his family. Once known as the city of Five Forks, it was renamed to Colbert in 1909 to honor J. Fletcher Colbert's many generous donations and efforts to improve the city. The same house later became home to prominent city businessman, Joe Benton, who married Colbert’s granddaughter, Ouida Collier.
When erected, the house first featured a white wooden structure but during the 1950s, it was bricked. Now freshly painted and sporting a new facade, the house is restored to its original color. The interior has been carefully and artistically renovated with the balance of historic charm and modern luxury.
The Colbert-Benton Guest House now serves the area as a philanthropic event venue with all proceeds being donated to one of five local charities, chosen by the renter. Whether rented for senior or prom pictures, wedding photos, rehearsal dinners, UGA Bulldog weekends, showers, family reunions, or small weddings, we would love to host your event.
We are dedicated to paying happiness forward, one event at a time.
